* If you have Windows 10, Microsoft will force an upgrade in the next few months. This is a good thing, as operating system upgrades include bug fixes, security enhancements and sometimes, performance improvements.
We have already seen pop-ups asking if we want to install the update now or schedule it for another time.

* MyPlanit is a cool app I’ve come across. Using the GPS on your cell phone, it gives you the ability to see where you’ve been and how long you stayed in any given place.
You can even search by location name and it will show you all the times you’ve been there.
Interestingly, it even integrates pictures taken with the location, and can link your contacts with locations.

The Federal Trade Commission has fined Facebook 5 Billion dollars for privacy violations and is requiring it to boost privacy and transparency.
Privacy protection and transparency are hot topics these days because so much data about all of us is being collected and used, sometimes legitimately, sometimes not.

Google Chrome Browser is dropping the www part of website names it displays. This is being done to make reading web addresses easier, and typing website names simpler. For example, currently, when you go to Google using most web browsers, you see: www.google.com Soon, you will only see: google.com.
While this makes it easier to type a website name, you will only have to type google.com, not www.google.com, there is a concern that fraudulent website will be harder to notice.
For those of you who want to see the full website address, Google has created the Suspicious Site Reporter extension for Chrome.
